Valyncia Hurd is a music educator and performer from the West Georgia area. She serves as choir director of Villa Rica High School where she directs four performing ensembles, the piano techniques program, co-sponsors the Tri Music Honor Society, and acts as Literary Coordinator. Her students consistently earn placement in the Georgia All-State Chorus events, earn superior and excellent ratings at the Georgia Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluations, and perform successfully in yearly competitions, festivals, community service, and solo events. Her students are known for their premier performances and attention to detail. 

Mrs. Hurd received a Bachelor’s of Music Education from the University of West Georgia in the spring of 2016 and a Master’s in Music Education in the summer of 2023. She has been teaching choral students in the classroom since 2016.  

Mrs. Hurd has a passion for guiding  young people through the many life lessons that come along with being a successful musician.  She continues to pursue vocal performance opportunities to further strengthen her musical knowledge and teaching techniques. Outside of teaching, she loves to spend time with her husband and son and sing in her church choir.
