Bio
I have been a Villa Rica wildcat nearly my entire life! After moving to Villa Rica from Macon, GA when I was two years old, I quickly began to bleed purple and gold! I graduated from Villa Rica High School in 1997, and couldn't wait to come back and fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher, and at my home school, no less! After earning a degree in English from Brenau University, I attended Kennesaw State University, where I earned a degree in Secondary Education with a focus in English. After a few years of teaching, I again enrolled at Piedmont University, where I earned a Masters in Secondary Education. In December of 2022, I completed my Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction through Piedmont University. I enjoy being a student almost as much as I love being a teacher!
I feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity to teach a variety of English classes since 2003 here at VRHS. For many years, I taught 9th-grade literature. I've also had the privilege of teaching 10th-grade literature and American literature. For the past few years, I've been teaching AP Language and Composition and British literature, and last year I started teaching Multicultural Literature as well.
I am looking forward to another fabulous year at Villa Rica High School.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, painting, traveling, and spending time with my family, my dogs, and my cats. Most of all, I enjoy experiencing all life has to offer and watching my son as he learns and grows. He definitely keeps me on my toes and never ceases to amaze me!
I am loving life as a wife, mother, and teacher!
