Bio

My name is Dr. Melody Waltz, and this is my 20th year in education. Throughout my career, I have served as a high school teacher and as an assistant principal at both the high school and elementary levels. Supporting teachers, enhancing instruction, and helping students succeed in all learning environments are at the heart of my work.

Originally from Louisiana, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University, a Master’s in Secondary Education from Loyola University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Research from Louisiana State University. My professional passions include mentoring future educators, assisting high school students in developing into confident leaders, and supporting student organizations.

Outside of school, I enjoy running, community service, and spending time with my husband. We are sports fans, and even though we now live in University of Georgia territory, you'll still find me cheering for the Tulane Green Wave and the LSU Tigers!

I am excited to be a part of the Villa Rica team and look forward to an amazing year ahead!
