Mr. McCarty is originally from Griffin, GA but he graduated from Lamar County High School. He attended Gordon State College in Barnesville, GA before moving to Carrollton to attend the University of West Georgia. He earned both his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Secondary Education from UWG and later his Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. Mr. McCarty taught a variety of Social Studies subjects at both Spalding High School (Griffin) and Central High School (Carrollton) before becoming an administrator at Villa Rica High School in 2023.
