Education

Hello Everyone!!!

My name is Renee Obitko.  I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh where I earned my Masters Degree in the field of Education for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in 1995.  In 2001, I earned my add-on certification at Valdosta State University in the field of Interrelated (Special Education).   In 2007, I earned my Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction Management via Nova Southeastern's On-line Program.

Experience

My first teaching job was in Thomasville, GA.  I was employed by Thomas County Public Schools from 1995-2005...middle school for 3 years and high school for 7.   I relocated to St. Mary's, GA in 2005 and began teaching at Camden County High School until June of 2014  I moved back to PA to be closer to my family that particular summer.  Upon making the decision to move back to GA after three years in PA, I made a "pit-stop" in North Carolina.  I worked as an Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for Granville County Public Schools for the 2017-2018 school year.  I served five different schools in Granville County.  On June 4th 2018,  I had a "Face Time" Interview at 4:00 p.m. with Mr. Rogers and Mrs. Richardson (I was still teaching in NC...summer vacation had not started yet) and at the end of the interview I was offered the position!!!  I am so happy and excited to be part of the VRHS/Carroll County Tribe!!!
