Sudduth Signs With Georgia Southern University



VRHS Senior Ansley Sudduth (front row, center) signs her Letter of Intent to continue her education with Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia, where she has been accepted into the Honors Program.  While at VRHS, Ansley, who was voted “Most Leadership” by her senior classmates, held several leadership positions, including senior class vice president, FBLA president, Golden Echo Yearbook editor, captain of the varsity football cheerleading squad, and co-captain of the varsity basketball cheerleading squad.  In addition to being a member of the varsity football and basketball cheerleading squads as a sophomore, junior, and senior, Ansley was also a member of the Beta Club, Spanish Honors Society, and National Honors Society, and she will graduate with honors with a 3.8 GPA.  At Georgia Southern, Ansley plans to major in pre-pharmacy and chemistry.  Shown with Ansley are (front row, left to right) Susan Sudduth, mother; Ansley Suddeth, signee; and Keith Sudduth, father; (back row, left to right) Adam Herring, VRHS principal and Heather Miller, VRHS English Department Head.

Merritts Signs With Berry College



VRHS Senior Kylee Merritts signs her Letter of Intent to continue her education with Berry College in Rome, Georgia.  While at VRHS, Kylee maintained a 3.87 GPA and was awarded an $11,000 academic scholarship from Berry College, the CATS scholarship, and the Hope Scholarship based on her academic performance.  While at Berry, Kylee plans to major in Psychology.  Shown with Kylee are (left to right) Adam Herring, VRHS Principal; Kylee Merritts, signee; Vicki Bell, mother; and Heather Miller, VRHS English Department Head.

Watkins Signs With Reinhardt University



VRHS Senior Haley Watkins (front row, center) signs her Letter of Intent to continue her education with Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia, where she has accepted a Music and Academic Scholarship.  While at VRHS, Haley, a CATS award winner, has been in the Wildcat Marching Band for four years and was a member of the Color Guard where she served as captain and received the award of Best Color Guard.  During her junior year, she was on the Winter Guard where she was captain and received the award Best Winter Guard Leader.  When not in marching season, Haley was a member of the Symphonic Band where she played alto saxophone.  Haley is a member of the Key Club, where she is the Treasurer; Drama and Theater, where she is a member of the National Thespian Society; and Chorus, where she is a member of the Show Choir.
