My bachelor’s degree was earned at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I majored in Mathematics Secondary Education and Communication Arts and Sciences. I am certified in Speech and Secondary Mathematics. I received my gifted endorsement during the 2014-2015 school year. I am currently enrolled at Kennesaw State University in their Secondary Education Masters program with a focus on Mathematics. I will have my M.Ed by spring 2019.

This is my 6th year teaching and my 5th at Villa Rica. I have taught Algebra 1 and Geometry throughout the course of those 6 years. This year I teach 4 sections of co-taught Geometry and 2 sections of Honors Geometry.

I am originally from Michigan where I spent my entire life until I moved to Georgia. I moved here in 2013 to begin my teaching career at Lithia Springs High School. After a year at Lithia, I was offered a position at Villa Rica. I knew right away that Villa Rica would be home! I love this community and this school. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my husband Wesley and visiting my family in Michigan. I just became an aunt for the first time to an adorable baby girl named Sophia.

Teaching has been my passion since elementary school and I come from a family full of educators! Being in the classroom with students everyday is the best feeling in the world. I love working with your children and I am always available for any of their needs.
