I grew up in Alabama so I started at Southern Union Junior College for two years and earned an associate degree.  I then transferred to Jacksonville State University for the following degrees:  BA in education, MA in education, and Education Specialist (EdS).

I was lucky enough to join the staff in 1997 at VRHS and I have never taught anywhere else.  I hope to retire from here without changing schools because I love the students and community so much.  I have taught just about every math class and every grade level that has been offered here over the years, but I have spent most of my time teaching the eleventh grade math classes.

I grew up in a very small town in Alabama called Lineville.  My parents and most of my relatives still live there.  I moved to Georgia in 1997 for my first teaching job right out of college.  After working a few years here, I decided this was the place for me to settle down so I bought a house in Villa Rica and I have never regretted that decision.  I have a yellow tabby named Brady who demands my attention once I get home.  I am an avid needlepointer so most of my summer is spent stitching until my shoulders give out.  One interesting fact about myself is that I am trying to get to all the major league baseball parks (I have been to 22 so far).  Yes, I support the Atlanta Braves (even when they have a loosing season) and enjoy baseball greatly.  There is nothing like going to a ballpark, watching the game, and eating cotton candy.
