We are VR!

I have been a Villa Rica wildcat nearly my entire life!  After moving to Villa Rica from Macon, GA when I was two years old, I quickly began to bleed purple and gold! I graduated from Villa Rica High school in 1997, and I couldn't wait to come back and fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher, and at my home school, no less!  After earning a degree in English at Brenau University, I attended Kennesaw State, where I earned a degree in Secondary Education with a focus in English.  While teaching at Villa Rica, I earned my master's degree from Piedmont College. I enjoy being a student almost as much as I love being a teacher!

I feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity to teach a variety of English classes during my 17 years at the high school. The majority of my time as a teacher at VR was spent in the ninth grade academy.  A few years ago, I moved up with my students to tenth grade literature.  This year, I am teaching AP Language and Composition for the third year and British literature to seniors! I am looking forward to another fabulous year at Villa Rica High School!

In my free time, I love reading, painting, and spending time with my family, my dog, and my 23 pound cat.  I also thoroughly enjoy traveling. One of my favorite places to visit is Ecuador, and I feel lucky to have been able to travel there three times so far.

My husband and I were blessed with a baby boy (and future VR Wildcat) 15 months ago. He is definitely keeping us on our toes!

I am loving life as a wife, mother, and teacher!
