Homecoming is the week of Sept.25 - Sept. 29. Theme: “There's No Place Like HOMEcoming"

We have invited all Previous HC Queens to participate in parade and to a pregame tailgate. This year's Homecoming is featuring "The Return of the Homecoming Queens" events. The alumnus Queens will be participating in 2 events:

This first is in the Homecoming parade where they will ride golf carts and floats provided by community sponsors (Mirror Lake Collision, Chick-Fil-A VR, J. Best Hair, Jay Collins Funeral Home, and Putt-N-Around).
The second is they are walking and being acknowledged at Pre-game after they enjoy a tailgate sponsored by McNeilus and Don-Rich Ford. We have ladies returning from 1958 to 2016! We are expecting an even bigger turn out for the game due to this plus the crowning of our 2017 HC Queen at half-time.

The Homecoming parade is next Thursday and starts around 4-4:15 pm. The route is from VRES to Glanton Heisman Elem. The Community Pep rally will follow the parade at The Mill in downtown Villa Rica. Both activities exhibit many of the best of our cluster! There will be floats/participation from many of our clubs/sports/band, as well as students from all of our Homecoming Court representatives. Furthermore, there will be 28 previous VRHS Homecoming Queens in the parade ranging from 1958 to 2016 and floats for all of our cluster schools supported by their teachers and students!

Your support for all of them is greatly appreciated if you can make it out there to support everyone (if you miss the parade, you can still make the Community Pep Rally).  It is a wonderful exhibition of the We Are VR spirit! Traffic gets rather hectic, so keep that in mind.

Students will be decorating doors in the 100, 500, 600 and 800 hallways the weeks of 9/11 thru 9/22.

Homecoming dress-up days are:

Monday 9/25- Nerds vs Jocks Day

Tuesday 9/26- Elderly Day

Wednesday 9/27- Rockers vs. Rappers Day

Thursday 9/28- Throwback Thursday 1990s

Friday 9/29 - VR Spirit Day

Help the Homeless Shoebox Drive / Helping the Homeless Contest-  Sept. 11th- Sept.20th (extended to Sept. 25th)

This year SGA has decided to incorporate the entire school in the "Help the Homeless" drive. Every year SGA as well as a handful of other clubs collect personal hygiene necessities to create shoe boxes for the Fullerville Mission to hand out to those in need. This year it will be part of the Homecoming points earned by classes to try and win the Homecoming Contest between classes.

Freshmen- Dental Floss, Wet Wipes, Q-tips

Sophomores- Deodorant, Brushes, Combs

Juniors- Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash

Seniors- Toothbrushes, toothpaste, Feminine Product

The contest goes 2 ways:

1. Overall number of items per Class (Freshmen, Sophomores, etc)

2. Highest number of items brought in to 1st period (does not have to be all the same grade)
