Bio

Ever since I was very young I wanted one thing more than any other, that was to become a grandma.  I have been blessed three times now with that honor: Aaron, Aidan and now Natasha bring daily joy to my life. My children: Chris married to my wonderful daughter-in-law and mother to Tashi, Stephanie and my daughter, married to the wonderful father to my grandsons, Bryan.   My second--but not so vocalized wish was to learn and to share that knowledge.  I get to do that every single day.  How many people get to have not just one wish come true--but two. Additionally, I get to work at VRHS with our high quality staff and our wonderful students, I am so very blessed every single day.

GAE

This is my 30th year teaching with 24 of those years serving at Villa Rica High School. I am now the employee (except maybe a lunchroom lady or two) with the most years at VRHS, and I could not have picked anywhere better to have spent my career.

I have my Masters Degree in English, and I am additionally certified to teach Social Studies, Gifted, AP English Literature and AP Human Geography.

I also coach the Academic Decathlon Team, which is not quiz bowl.  VRHS is the only school in Carroll County to field an Academic Decathlon team, which I have coached now for 22 years.  After several years of placing in the top three in the state, in February of 2019, we won First Place in the Large School category, Division IV and we represented Carroll County at Nationals in Minnesota.  The team is hoping for a repeat performance with the national competition being in Alaska this year.
