Hola Amigos! I am new to Villa Rica High School this school year. I most recently moved from Dahlonega, GA where I still maintain a home. I was born in Los Angeles, California and lived most of my life in Southern California. I earned a Bachelor of Business Science and Master of Educational Technology at California Baptist University in Riverside, CA. Once I settled in GA, I earned a Specialist of Curriculum and Instruction at Lincoln 

I am a native Spanish speaker. I was blessed to grow up in a bilingual home. My mother’s family is from Nicaragua/Costa Rica. My father is a Heard County, Georgia native. My father and uncle were business partners and moved their company to Nicaragua where they both learned to speak Spanish fluently later in their lives. My mother attended a private school in Managua, Nicaragua where she learned to speak English fluently. 

My career in education began 23 years ago in California, a state with very high requirements and standards. I have taught Science, Physical Education, Business/Marketing, Spanish 1, 2 and 3.

I have 3 amazing daughters! My oldest Marissa, is a paralegal and in training to become a courtroom recorder, Farrah is a psychology major at San Marcos University, CA and is in the National Guard, Athena is in 2nd grade at Ithica Elementary. 

In my free time I enjoy hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, gardening, working with medicinal plants, practicing Yoga or Qigong and I travel every chance I get! I am absolutely passionate about teaching Spanish! In our modern society it is a must to know a second language. What better language to learn in the US but Spanish, the second most spoken language in our country.
