Earth Day Activities

On Thursday April 22nd, Mr. Vick’s marketing class made sales presentations. In honor of Earth Day, all products “sold” to the class had to be “green”. Products were varied and innovative. Included were ideas for power generated from household waste water, hydrogen cell sport boats, and the recycling of paper products and tennis shoes. Students enjoyed the presentations and learned the value of our planet along with their sales techniques.

In Mrs. Dunbar’s classes, they researched an endangered species and created awareness by acquiring signatures from teachers and staff after they explained about the species, its habitat, and why it is endangered. They created a button with a picture of their species on it.

AP Language Meets Pakistan

AP Language had the opportunity to cross cultural lines today and hear a presentation from Sadia, our foreign exchange student from Pakistan. She spoke of her worries and fears from her and her family about her coming to America, the differences in the predominant faiths of both nations (Muslim and Christianity), and the unique and beautiful characteristics of her native Pakistan. Mrs. Miller and AP Language are grateful to her for her unique knowledge and the understanding that she brings to our current topic of study, the perception of American culture around the world and the role women play in that perception. Thank you so much, Sadia.

Viva la France

Vive la France!!

We are grateful to our school, community and families for their support of this wonderful learning opportunity.
