Communities in Schools Hosts VRHS College Fair
On Monday, February 22nd, Villa Rica High School conducted their annual college fair sponsored by Communities in Schools (CIS). To say it was a success would be an understatement. Students and teachers alike gave their praises of the event. Teachers agreed that it was beneficial to the students who were undecided as to where to receive their secondary education. Mrs. Cheely, CIS Coordinator and event organizer, stated that she was satisfied with the event because it met the needs of the students.
During the event, students were able to explore their options from all over the state including Clayton State, Herzing University, UGA at Griffin, University of West GA, GA Highlands, GA Gwinnett College, ITT Tech, Kennesaw State, Reinhardt University, University of North Georgia, and GA Southwestern State University. Admission representatives from each college were present to greet the students and answer any of their questions. Mrs. Cheely hopes to provide more options next year by giving students the opportunity to consider institutions in Alabama as well as technical, 2-year college options.
